3D Wednesday...and HAPPY HALLOWEEN :)

It's 3D Wednesday again over at MyCreativeTime! Today we are making 3D cards. I chose to make a box card {my first one ever}. It was super easy and fun! :) I learned how by watching the fabulous Shari Carroll's video HERE. And here's my "card"...
I used the XL Label die to cut out my window. I made the scene inside with papers from the Figgy Pudding collection from Basic Grey {which I'm no longer hoarding}. I paper pieced the cutie snowman from the All Around Accessories set.
I white heat embossed the sentiment from the From Our Family To Yours set from MyCreativeTime. Pop over to Emma's Blog to see lots more 3D fun! :)

Although I made a Christmas card...HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Pumpkin Bat :)

Hello and Happy Halloween {almost}! I made a Pumpkin/Bat hybrid creature using the September 2012 set from PeachyKeenStamps. Isn't he funny? :) The patterned paper and ribbon are from the September Peachy Picks Kit. Love those kits!
Pumpkin/Bat is on a wobble so it looks like he's flying. :)

Card and fabulous SALE info!!!

Hello my bloggy buddies! I have decided to quit hoarding my pretty paper and actually use it! I used my favorite holiday collection from Basic Grey called Figgy Pudding for this card. I am serious when I tell you I've had this for a LONG time {years and years}...it is just so pretty I didn't want to use it up! Anyhoo, I stamped the "white" patterned paper with the Collage Music Background from Hero Arts with pumice stone distress ink for a subtle textured look. Then I stamped the branch and ornaments over top of that with the Magic Of Christmas set also by Hero Arts.
I stamped the ornaments on patterned papers a few times so I could paper piece them together. I went over the leaves and the ornaments with glossy accents to add shine. I ♥ glossy accents so much! I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment which is also from the Magic Of Christmas set from Hero Arts. Ok...on to some fun stampy enabling! :)

Happy Halloween

Hello! For my card today I actually used my cricut! I have been neglecting that poor machine. I cut out this lady from the Happy Haunting cartridge. Her face is from the Laughy Taffy set from PeachyKeenStamps. I used my sakura stardust pen to give her glitter eye shadow. :)
I used white enamel accents for the streak in her hair. I used my favorite rock candy distress stickles to add sparkle to her dress. I stamped the sentiment from the Treats For My Sweet set from MyCreativeTime. I stamped it on to the Curly Label Die also from MyCreativeTime

Happy Sons of Anarchy day! I ♥ that show! :)

Halloween Blog Hop

Hello! You should have arrived from Nancy's Blog, if not, head HERE to start at the beginning. I am going to share a fun technique for making your own custom "fabric" accent. This is super easy and most of all fun! :) I used the XL Label die to cut out some patterned paper and also some Sticky Back Canvas. Sticky Back Canvas is exactly what it sounds like, canvas with a sticky back. I just love this stuff! Super fun to stamp on and ink, but I will be using the sticky side today. :)
Peel off the backing on the sticky back canvas and stick the patterned paper on it patterned side face down. Make sure to really rub it in {I used my bone folder}.This is how the magical transfer of the pattern will happen!
Now spray it like crazy with plain old water and get ready for the magic to happen. You'll need a really fancy tool for the next part...your finger! :) Rub Rub Rub away the paper...
Look! It's happening! See the ghosts appearing?! Just keep on rubbing until all the paper is gone and you'll be left with your very own custom fabric!
Tada!!! From here I dried it really well and gave it a coat of matte mod podge to seal it. And here is my finished card...
I stamped the ghost from the Treats For My Sweet set twice. Once on patterned paper and once on sticky back canvas. I paper pieced it on to the canvas and cut it out. I used my fingernail to fray the canvas. The sentiment is from the All Around Halloween set
I sure hope you liked my little tutorial! OH and here's an extra bit of enabling for you aside from Emma's super duper awesome sale :)...Blitsy has Sticky Back Canvas on sale super cheap right now. I really like the white, but there is also a natural color which is really pretty. PeachyKeen Challenge 39

Hello! It's challenge time again and this time we have the above photo to use as color inspiration. I chose to use 3 colors that really popped out to me. Here is my card...
I started by stamping and white heat embossing the What Time Is It background. This background is just fabulous for birthday cards. I inked it up with shaded lilac distress ink, and another strip of it with crushed olive distress ink. I stamped the bird from the Lil' Tweets Birthday set a few times so I could use distress inks to quickly color it and then piece it back together. I used mustard seed distress ink for the main body of the bird.
The sentiment is also from the Lil' Tweets Birthday set. I cut a talk bubble around it. :) Be sure to pop over to the Challenge Blog to play along with us!

Have a Purr-fect Christmas...and SALE! :)

Hello! I hope you're having a fab day! I used a cute stamp set called Miss Shayla at Christmas Time. This set is BIG and is available HERE at PeachyKeenStamps. {pssst it's on sale...and it's about SALE time at PeachyKeenStamps...details at the bottom of this post} I stamped the kitty and the gift on patterned papers from the Holly Jolly collection from Echo Park. I then paper pieced them together. I thought it would be cute to have the kitty sit on the gift. {that happens here!} :)
I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment from the Miss Shayla At Christmas Time set. I added some stickles to the gift and called it done. :) Now some SALE info! Yeah!

Masking with Peachy Keen Stamps

Hello! Nikki here with a photo tutorial on masking. The bright green paper is Post-It Craft Paper. It's sticky all over like a Post-It note. I stamped the haunted house from the September 2012 set and drew in a bigger hill with pencil. I used a circle die to cut out a circle that will become my moon. So I have now made two masks. I'm using patterned paper from the September Peachy Picks Kit
I used the Cloudy Day Background stamp to make a spooky sky. I inked it up with pumice stone distress ink and misted it with water in a mini mister to get a splotchy look. I think it adds to the spooky factor.
I removed the circle mask and added the "negative" mask. Now it's time to color the moon.
I inked the moon with distress inks in mustard seed, wild honey, and ripe persimmon. I blended the colors on with an ink blending tool and the blending foam pad. I then drew around the circle with a black marker to make it stand out from the background. Remove the mask and this is what we have...
Bam! A spooky moon! :) And now it's time to stamp some more...
I know this looks a little crazy, but it will turn out cool...I swear! I cut a longer sidewalk out of the "negative" mask so I could have a gray sidewalk. Inked over it with a black marker. And from there I did some trimming and some more stamping and here is the finished card...
Tada! What started off looking crazy came together. I stamped some bats from the Dress Me Ghost set. And the sentiment is from the September 2012 set.
The patterned papers are from the September Peachy Picks Kit. The gray was just a little off from the ink I used, but no problem, I just inked right over it with distress ink for a perfect match. And here is another card I did using this same technique...
For this one I used a larger circle for the moon, but everything else is the same. I stamped the witch from the September 2012 on the moon I created by masking.
The patterned papers on this one are also from the September Peachy Picks Kit.

I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial on masking! Have a Perfectly Peachy day!

3D Wednesday

Hello! It's 3D Wednesday again and today I have a super easy project.
I used an advertisement magnet to make a holiday magnet for my fridge. I cut the magnet with the XL Label Die from MyCreativeTime. I cut out the ornaments from the Warm Holiday Fun set from MyCreativeTime. The sentiment is from the Mixed Holiday Sentiments set. I added glossy accent to the ornaments to make them shiny.

Be sure to pop over to Emma's Blog to see more 3D funness :)

PeachyKeen Sneak Peek Day 2

Hello! It's sneak peek time again for PeachyKeenStamps! I have 2 cards today showcasing the new October 2012 set and the new Peachy Picks Kit. For this first card I used the papers from the new Peachy Picks Kit to paper piece the pumpkin and cute wagon.
I white heat embossed the sentiment from the October 2012 set. The bow and gems are also from the new Peachy Picks Kit........Now prepare for cute overload! ;)
Soooo cute, right?! EEK! The adorable chipmunk, acorn, and sentiment are all from the October 2012 set. This set is soooooooooo stinkin' cute!!! I just had to make her hug the acorn. :)
The fabulous papers, and gems {her earrings} are from the Peachy Picks Kit. I added my favorite rock candy stickles to the top of the acorn for sparkle. Be sure to head HERE to see more fabulous sneaks!!!

Have a Peachtastical day!

3D Wednesday

Hello! It's 3D Wednesday again over at MyCreativeTime. Today I chose to make an easel card as my 3D project. Here is video tutorial on how to make the easel base. Super easy. And here's my card...
I apologize for the not so great photo, but it's rainy and gloomy here. Anyhoo...I cut a triangle and made a Christmas tree with buttons, pearls, and gems. I had this idea stored in my noggin after seeing a beautiful card done by Shari Carroll. {hers is MUCH better than this} I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment from the It's A Magical Season set on to the Curly Label Die. I also white heat embossed the sentiment from the From Our Family To Yours set on the blue strip on the inside. That bit is raised up with foam dots to help to hold up the easel part. The papers I used are from an old Basic Grey collection called Figgy Pudding. The buttons and ribbon are from PaperTreyInk.com.

Have a fabulous day!

Show me your technique...

Hello! You should have arrived from Nancy's Blog, but if you didn't, head HERE to start at the beginning. Today I'll be sharing stamping, masking, and paper piecing. :) Here we go...
I started with white cardstock cut to 4.25 x 4.25. I cut some Post-It Craft paper to the same size to create my mask. { Post-It Craft paper is sticky all over with the same stick as a regular Post-It note so it won't rip your paper when you remove it } I just happen to have tons of it on hand, so it's what I use the most. You can also use this stamp masking paper OR you can use repositionable adhesive on the back of regular paper. But if you go the adhesive route, just be sure to hold it very still or you'll get ink under the mask...and that won't look nice. :) ANYHOO I used the XL Label die to create my shape. I saved the positive piece to use on another project.
I used the cloud dies from the Fly Away With Me set to make masks with the same paper. Inking over them will leave us with pretty white clouds.
and after inking over them...
and here comes some masking magic! Remove the masks...
BAM! White clouds! :) Then I used this marker to trace the outline for a defined edge. And then I removed the mask {we're done with it now}
And here is the pretty sky we've made so far. And you're going to think this next picture is crazy, but it'll all turn out fine...I promise! ;)
I stamped the hot air balloon from the Fly Away With Me stamp set. I know it looks weird, but it'll be great after it gets paper pieced.
I stamped the hot air balloon a few more times on to kraft and patterned papers from the Soda Fountain collection from Echo Park. Then I cut out the bits I wanted and paper pieced the balloon back together. TIP after you've cut out your pieces, use the side of a brush tip marker to add black to the edges of the paper. This makes everything look uniform. And here's the reveal...
Tada!!! I just love how it turned out! :) To finish it off, I added the sentiment from the Just Simply Live set.
I hope you've enjoyed my lil' tutorial. :)

Your next stop is the fabulous ROSY
