My first Copic coloring! :)

Well folks, I'm officially in love with Copics. This is my first image colored with Copics. The very first. I look forward to looking back on this and seeing how much I have improved with time. My first image HAD to be a Peachy. :) This sweetie is from the Duck Dolls set by PeachyKeenStamps. I colored her, and then added her little bow which is also from the Duck Dolls set. The greeting is also from that set. and is stamped on the banner from the Vintage Labels dies from MyCreativeTime. I stamped the card base with the Cartoon Clouds Background from MyCreativeTime in yellow ink. It's very subtle, but it's there. ;) I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More dies and the Just Tags Dies for my little scene. I used the Stitched Grass and Cartoon Cloud Dies as well. The adorable papers are from the Springtime 6x6 pad by Doodlebug

I hope you're having a happy week thus far.

I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More dies for my card base and panel. I used the Stitched Sweethearts And XOXO dies for the heart. I colored the birdie from the Tweet Me set and cut him out with the Tweet Me Dies. I stamped the greeting from the Tweet Me set on one of the banners from the Trio Stitched Banner Dies

Happy Easter

Hello, and happy Sunday to ya! I hope you've had a nice weekend. I colored this little cutie from the Easter Egg Words And Bunnies set by PeachyKeenStamps with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I did a soft wash of color behind him with distress inks and water. I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More Dies and the Bunch Of Fun Circles Dies from MyCreativeTime for the panel. It's hard to see, but I used the Lattice Background stamp from PeachyKeenStamps on the card base.  The greeting is from the Hello Chickie set from MyCreativeTime

Hello Chickie

Hiya! I played with the adorable Sweetie Pie Peepers set from PeachyKeenStamps again today. Just too stinkin' cute! I colored the little chickie with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I added a soft wash of color for the scene with distress inks and water. I stamped the Picnic Tablecloth background from PeachyKeenStamps with Cotton Candy SimonSaysStamp ink. I swear it's pink in real life. The greeting is from the Hello Chickie set from MyCreativeTime. I also used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More and Stitched Oval Dies from MyCreativeTime

I hope you're having a wonderful Saturday.

You make my heart sing

Hello! Happy Friday to you! I spent some time this afternoon coloring these sweet images from the adorable Sweetie Pie Peepers set by PeachyKeenStamps. I first stamped the little girl, and then stamped her again on masking paper. I covered her up, and stamped the Mama over her. This way it looks like Mama is snuggling her. :) When you want and image to be in front when masking, you stamp it first. The way I remember is Front First. :) Anyhoo, I colored them with Prismacolor colored pencils. I added a soft wash of color for the scene with distress ink and water. The greeting is from the Tweet Me set by MyCreativeTime

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Always thinking of Mew

Hiya and happy Wednesday! I made this card today to play along in the MyFavoriteThings Sketch Challenge. I used the adorable I Knead You set from MyFavoriteThings along with the Coordinating Dies. I colored kitty with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I used the little rounded square from the 4x4 Journal Die & More set from MyCreativeTime. I stamped the sky on it with the Cartoon Cloud Background from MyCreativeTime. I used mint julep Hero Arts shadow ink for the sky, and lime green shadow ink for the grass. For the greeting I used the "mew" from the I Knead You set and the "always thinking of" is from the new Tweet Me set from MyCreativeTime. The greeting is on the banner from the Vintage Labels set from MyCreativeTime. I embossed the bottom of the panel with a dots folder, and added two embossed lines with my scoring board at the top. I stamped the Candy Stripe Background from PeachyKeenStamps with mint julep ink...btw this stamp is one off my all time faves and is only 7 bucks!!! Better get it before it's gone! :)

I hope you're having a relaxing evening.

Congratulations

Hello! I made this card to play along in the MyFavoriteThings Color Challenge. Here it is...
My brother and his family recently got a new puppy. They named him Jax. I think it's so cool that you can add a name to the bone on the doghouse from the You Make My Tail Wag set from MyFavoriteThings. Anyhoo, I colored all my elements with Prismacolor colored pencils. That sweet doggy actually has his leg lifted up {about to do his business} LOL. But I altered my stamped image by cutting that lifted leg off, and sticking it behind the front leg. :) I added glossy accents to his nose, and to the bone on the doghouse. I inked my scene with distress inks. I promise my colors are really the challenge colors. Cruddy photo. ;)

I hope my bro and his family like this card to welcome their new puppy. :)

whoa baby

Hello! I made this shaker using Jennifer McGuire's tip on how to get die cut letters lined up straight. Stretch Your Dies class at OnlineCardClasses sure has been fun! I used the Uppercase Fun Dies from MyCreativeTime. I stamped "whoa" with the Claire's ABC's set from Lawn Fawn onto the banner die from the Vintage Labels set from MyCreativeTime. I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More dies to cut the panel.

I hope you've had a wonderful weekend!

Pet Sympathy

Today's class at OnlineCardClasses was about using border dies. Instead of masking with border dies, I just cut strips so I could make stripes. I cut the paw with my Cricut Explore and the Life's A Party cartridge. Then my favorite part as usual...gluing my sequins. :)

♥ Nikki ♥

sending a little happy

This is the card I made with the "negative" spaces left from the mask made for the other card I just posted...scroll down. ;) I sprayed the negative space with squeezed lemonade and mustard seed distress reinkers in mini misters. Then I stamped the roses from The Sweet Life set from PaperTreyInk. The happy is from the Happy Trio Dies from MyFavoriteThings. And the "sending a little" is from the Sending Sunshine set by Wplus9. I'm basically obsessed with this greeting. LOL The vellum circle with cut with the Bunch Of Fun Circles dies from MyCreativeTime and my panel was cut with the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More set from MyCreativeTime

I super love how both of these cards turned out!

Every little thing is gonna be alright

Hello! I was inspired by today's Stretch Your Dies class at OnlineCardClasses. I used The Sweet Life stamp set and dies from PaperTreyInk. I cut masks with the dies, and used soft granite and charcoal Hero Arts shadow inks to stamp the roses. I inked the background with mint julep and soft pool Hero Arts shadow inks. I heat embossed the Every Little Thing greeting from MyCreativeTime on vellum.

I made another card with the "negative" leftover from the mask I cut...I'm gonna share it in another post so I can share them both in the class gallery. :)

Hang in there and Meow Cards

Hello! Today's Stretch Your Dies class at OnlineCardClasses was about using small dies. So I got out my Stitched Hexy Dies from MyCreativeTime. For this card I started by watercoloring my panel with mustard seed, ripe persimmon, and picked raspberry Distress Inks. I cut out the hexagons with the Stitched Hexy Dies. Then I heat embossed the awesome Hexy Background from MyCreativeTime with gold embossing powder on vellum. Then I used that to back my hexagons to make little shakers. The greeting is from the new Tweet Me set from MyCreativeTime, and will be available for purchase tomorrow. :) Here is the other card I made using the leftover hexagons...
I gold embossed the kitty from the I Knead You set by MyFavoriteThings. It was cut out with the coordinating I Knead You Dies. The greeting is also from the I Knead You set.

I hope you've had a great day.

I cut her out with the coordinating die from Fun Tweet Me Dies. I stamped the fabulous greeting from Every Little Thing with Stazon ink on vellum. I used the Bunch Of Fun Circles Dies to cut the circle in the panel.  Finally, I added 3 little hearts I cut with a die in the Fun Tweet Me Dies set.

MCT Sneaks Day 3

Hello! It's day 3 of sneaks for MyCreativeTime. Today we are sneaking the new Love You Bunches set, and the new Jr. Rolled Flowers Dies. For my first card I used the new Love You Bunches set. I hand cut a couple of masks of the flower so I could layer them while keeping it one layer. I white heat embossed them and watercolored with distress inks.
I stamped the greeting from the new Love You Bunches set it black. And for my next card, I've used the new Jr. Rolled Flowers Dies, but in a different way...
I used the negative space left behind by the Jr. Rolled Flowers Dies to make flowers. I used the Bunch Of Fun Circles Dies for the flower centers. I white heat embossed the greeting from the new Love You Bunches set on vellum and wrapped it around the flower panel. It's hard to tell, but I did pop up the flower panel with foam tape.

Sending A Little Happy Shaker

Hello! Today was day 2 of the Stretch Your Dies class at OnlineCardClasses. Today was all about flower dies. I didn't do any of the special techniques showed in class today. I just played with dies and had fun. :) I made a circle border shaker with the Bunch Of Fun Circles Dies from MyCreativeTime. I used the Stitched Pretty Flowers And Leaves Dies from MyCreativeTime as well. I used the Sending Sunshine set from Wplus9 for the "sending a little" greeting. And the happy is from the Happy Trio Dienamics from MyFavoriteThings. I did the same greeting yesterday...I kinda love it. :) OH...I did do something Jennifer McGuire did! I added little dots of glossy accents here and there. Pretty cool. :)

Sending a little happy your way.

Hello! Today is the first day of the Stretch Your Dies class at OnlineCardClasses. Here is my take on the technique the fabulous Jennifer McGuire showed. I used the Happy Trio Dienamics dies from MyFavoriteThings for my background and for the greeting. I used the biggest "happy" die cut for the greeting, and added glossy accents to it to make it pop. I used the Bunch Of Fun Circles Dies from MyCreativeTime for the circle. For the greeting, I used the Sending Sunshine set from Wplus9

I hope your week is off to a happy start.

Nikki

MCT Sneaks Day 1

Hiya! It's day one of sneaks for the newest release from MyCreativeTime. Today we are sneaking a new die called Stitched Circle Pattern Die. This die is unique in that it doesn't cut, but leaves embossed stitching lines behind instead. I used the existing Stitched Button Dies to cut holes inside the stitched circles. I made lots of different "wells" behind the circles with my foam tape so I could have different colored mini shakers. :) The greeting is from the It's All About You set.

Simple St. Patrick's Day Cards

Hello! I made some simple St. Patrick's Day cards using the Spring Holiday Cards Cricut cartridge and my Cricut Explore machine. I used the Lucky Day Shamrock background from PeachyKeenStamps on all the card fronts. That is a great background that you should totally get before it's gone forever! :) I also used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More dies from MyCreativeTime on all the cut panels to add just a little detail. Still super quick!
Love that subtle background. You can see it better in real life. Promise. ;)
And this last one just cracks me up! :) I sent this one to my Father In Law. :)

I hope you're having a fabulous Sunday!

You're purr-fect!

Hello! As soon as I saw the fabulous new I Knead You set from My Favorite Things I knew I wanted to make this card! :) I used the awesome Stitched Window Dies And Accessories from MyCreativeTime for the window and shelf. I sandwiched acetate in the window for the "glass". I colored the sweet kitty from the I Knead You set with my Prismacolor colored pencils. The beauty part of this guy is that he also has a backside stamp! SO CUTE! So I used both the I Knead You Stamps and I Knead You Dies to make this card. And here is the inside...
Eek! I wub his kitty backside! SO CUTE! And because I wanted to keep the card pretty on the inside {so nothing could be seen through the window} I made a "flap" inside so I can flip it up and write in there. The greeting on the front is from the You Had Me At Meow set from MyCreativeTime

Happy almost Friday! :)

p.s. As I type this, my orange kitty Simba is in the window. :)

MCT Tag It Tuesday

It's Tag It Tuesday at MyCreativeTime. I used the Tag Die Layers set to make the shaker tag. I used the Stitched Honey Comb Dies to cut the white hexagons on the panel. I cut it a few more times in different colors, and used just a few colored hexagons to fill in here and there.

Snappy St. Patrick's Day

It's a little weird, but so am I. ;) I colored the alligator/crocodile from the Critters Down Under set by Lawn Fawn with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I made my custom greeting with the Claire's ABC's set by Lawn Fawn. I stamped the tone on tone background with the Lucky Day Shamrock Background from PeachyKeenStamps

Hello! Happy Friday to you! :) The super fabulous Kathy Racoosin has a fun month long color "challenge" going on over at her BLOG. The idea is to color something every day for 30 days. Fun, right?! I had some fun coloring this sweet elephant from the  Unforgettable set by Wplus9. BTW it's back in stock! Yay! :) I colored him with prismacolor colored pencils. I watercolored the scene with distress inks and water. I turned the flower from the Unforgettable set into a clover. :) I used the Bunch Of Fun Circles and the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More dies from MyCreativeTime. The greeting is from the I'm A Lucky Girl set from MyCreativeTime.

Hello! It's time for another Designer Challenge at MyCreativeTime. This time we have the above photo/color combo as inspiration. Here is my card...
I stamped the card base with the Grainy Wood Background. The "wreath" was cut from the Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge with my Cricut Explore. I inked it with mint julep Hero Arts shadow ink. I cut the eggs with the dies in the Hello Chickie set. I inked them with soft pool and soft cantaloupe Hero Arts shadow ink. The bunny was cut with the die in the To My Best Peep set. The greeting is from the Hello Chickie set. I added sequins to finish it off.

MCT Inspiration Wednesday

Hello! It's Inspiration Wednesday at MyCreativeTime. For my cards today I was inspired by THIS tutorial that I got in an email. I've wanted to try a "bokeh" card for a long time. I don't have white pigment ink, so I used white acrylic paint instead. For this first card I used picked raspberry, ripe persimmons, and squeezed lemonade distress inks. I wanted my bokeh to be bright! :) I used the Bunch Of Fun Circles Dies for the bokeh dots and for my greeting circles. I used the Fun Lowercase Dies for the greetings on both cards. And the "2" is from the Number Fun Dies. And after I made this card, I had to try a rainbow version! :)
Yay! RAINBOW! :) For this one I used distress reinkers. I used worn lipstick, dried marigold, squeezed lemonade, shabby shutters, tumbled glass, and shaded lilac. Again, I used the Bunch of Fun Circles dies for my bokeh dots stencils. :) OH, and I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More Dies for the card panels. This was super fun...and messy. ;)

Happy Birthday Dino

Hello! I made this card for the Lawn Fawn/Simon Says Stamp Flickr Co Challenge. The challenge is to use their products, and incorporate kraft. I stamped and paper pieced the dinosaur from Lawn Fawn's Critters From The Past set. And for the greeting I used the Hello You set from Simon Says Stamp. I turned the "O" into a balloon, and tied it to the dino's tail.  :)

I hope your week is off to a great start.

♥ Nikki ♥

p.s. Forgot to mention that I stretched the dino's neck a little. One of the many reason why clear stamps totally rock! ;)
